Yup you are right. This chapter 31 are really long, and it have angst on it because LZ who have awakened didn’t want to pursue his feelings. Not only because they are step-siblings (who totally not related by blood like the tag on NU said) but because other reasons.

Considering the current situation with his brother that plan might have worked if it was still Yu Shulin from the last life. With what he knows about his uncle and aunt, he definitely wouldn’t fall for that. I’m curious about what exactly they’ll come up with though 😏
