WOYE Chapter 35 [Third Night Part Five]

Editor : reii

Fang Daichuan stared at the sea, looking dazed.

What do I do now? He should’ve jumped after Li Sinian but the truth was that at the moment, he had been afraid. His legs seemed to have become as heavy as a lead, and he’d missed the timing.

How far Li Sinian’s foresight was to see my cowardice and selfishness and how much misery must he have felt to take his own life? Fang Daichuan stared blankly at the sea that had swallowed Li Sinian’s body. In the end, he’d said, Fang Daichuan, you must live. Yet, when I had the chance to save him, I hesitated.

“I’m really not a witch!” Niu Xinyan weakly defended, “Nan Nan, don’t you believe me?! I’m not a witch!”

The little boy stared at Niu Xinyan suspiciously with a malicious look in his eyes.

Fang Daichuan’s vision was blurred. He recalled the god and devil statue carved on the second floor of the villa*, and at that moment he understood the true intention of the boss behind the scenes. It wasn’t the goddess of justice but the demon behind the goddess that represented the boss. When one idea was proven to be wrong, another would replace it, this was human nature.

(T/N : Chapter 24)

“What do you want to see?” Fang Daichuan raised his head and gazed at the moon in the sky, as if he could see the pair of eyes in front of the monitor behind the moon. Those eyes were staring at them intently, like a scientist observing ants fighting for food. “Is this your goal? Watching humans kill each other and letting everyone see their own filthiness?”

If you tear open the moon, will you discover the real world behind the curtain? Fang Daichuan closed his eyes and let the rain wash away his tears.

Li Sinian’s voice kept echoing in his ears, “Live, Fang Daichuan, you must live.”

At the same time, he saw another Li Sinian in front of his eyes, clutching his hand tightly, and saying, “Save me, save me.”

Everyone else was taken aback by this incident as well. Yang Song pointed to Niu Xinyan and cursed, “Is that bottle of antidote so important?! You’re just letting someone die right in front of you!”

Every word stabbed his heart.

Fang Daichuan closed his eyes.

Fang Daichuan stood up with his head down, the water droplets rolling down his cheeks and tips of his hair. At this time, he had also made his decision.

Fang Daichuan calmly dropped the bomb. He raised his arm, the two potions in his hand shining brightly, illuminated by the thunder, and he said, “Stop fighting, I am the real witch.”

Yang Song quickly turned to look at him, a long pause followed his words.

The little boy noticed there was something in his hand and made a move for it.

The other people at the scene are all female. Fang Daichuan might have hesitated to fight with them. But to hit a crazy kid whose real age and origins he didn’t know? With no qualms, Fang Daichuan kicked the child away, making the syringe in the child’s hand fly into the air.

“Don’t fight!” Niu Xinyan screamed and knelt down to help the kid.

Fang Daichuan sneered, walked up and picked up the syringe on the ground. Standing on the beach with the background of lightning, his voice was sharp and clear. “Yang Song is right, is this bottle of antidote really so important? Li Sinian is dead, I would rather bury this bottle of antidote with him than leave it to you.”

After he finished speaking, he lowered his head and glanced at the edge of the several-meter-high rocky cliff, took a deep breath, mustered up the courage, closed his eyes and jumped down.

He no longer knew what else happened on the shore after he jumped. The moment his body made contact with water, his mind went blank, the ice-cold water instantly enveloping him. A sharp corner of the reef scratched his forehead, and the sea water brought a stinging pain. He lost his sense of direction in the dark, and he didn’t know where Li Sinian had fallen. Only the dim lighthouse in the distance remained a fuzzy halo, letting him know which side was the sea surface.

Holding his breath, he dived in the direction opposite to the light, tightly clutching the medicine bottle and syringe in his hand.

Inside the sea was chaos, time and space seemed to have frozen, sand and gravel mixed with the snake-like aquatic plants, Fang Daichuan’s lungs were about to explode.

Humans’ fear of the ocean may be engraved in their genes. When Fang Daichuan jumped he still had his courage but after he actually threw himself into the water, he felt endless distress. He didn’t plan on accompanying Li Sinian to the underworld—he wasn’t stupid to such a degree. In order to leave him the hope of survival, Li Sinian was ready to die. So he wouldn’t throw away his life for nothing.

He came down to save Li Sinian because he couldn’t stand the fact that Li Sinian was throwing his life away in vain. His thoughts were very simple. Since he was 100% sure that Li Sinian was on the same side and since there was an antidote, why shouldn’t he use it? Even if there was only one bottle of antidote, they would eventually have to use it anyway. However, Li Sinian didn’t give him any room to act, not even warning him that he would jump into the sea before he did so.

You’re so ruthless, Fang Daichuan held onto his last breath while trying to keep his eyes open, internally cursing at Li Sinian, completely forgetting that he had marked him a wolf first.

He carefully looked for Li Sinian’s figure among the aquatic plants.

He quickly felt that something was wrong, he was pulled by two strong forces, one moment, it would come in his direction, and then another would pull him in the opposite direction. If one force is the rip tide, what’s the other one? Before Fang Daichuan could react, he was sucked to the sea floor by a strong force that felt like a pull of gravity. The snake-like aquatic plants slapped him on the face, he hit the reef with a bang, and spat out the last breath in his mouth.

Aquatic plants and fetid water poured into his body, assaulting his nose and throat. His limbs twitched, he looked up to the distant sea surface. Time seemed to have passed for a century, but at the same time, everything seemed to have frozen. “I’m afraid I’m going to die,” a bubble escaped from his mouth, blocking Fang Daichuan’s vision, and he had a wild thought, “It is said that right before death, people feel like time freezes, and the dying process is lengthened indefinitely. It is really too cruel.”

He flailed his arms around in vain, desperately grabbing a handful of slippery water plants, and then he had a thought; it’s fine even if time freezes. If I have to struggle for more than ten minutes, how dire would Li Sinian’s situation be?

Unexpectedly, I wanted to rescue him and settle the score, but in the end I threw my life for nothing. Fang Daichuan swallowed a few mouthfuls of water, smiled bitterly, and asked himself whether he regretted it.

——Regret. If only he stayed on the shore, how nice would it be to survive, there were still so many things he’d never done, so many fun places he hadn’t visited, and although there weren’t many real fans waiting for him to go back, he still wanted to act and practice kung fu. His parents had only one child. Deng-ge, and Xiao Zhou, the popular beautiful actress in the company, who would politely smile at him every time they meet him.

It was nice to be alive.

But even if he regretted many things, he couldn’t go against his heart.

Some things were destined to be more important than his life.

Trapped between the water plants, the icy water, and two opposing undercurrents, there was only hopelessness and despair.

Fang Daichuan smiled bitterly, and finally exhausted his last breath. His limbs spasmed, his body growing heavier by the second, two completely different forces tearing at him, as if they wanted to rip him apart.

However, just as he was about to be swept away by the undercurrent, Fang Daichuan’s wrist suddenly hurt.

In the darkness, something gripped his hand tightly.

The lips that were cold, become hot again, and oxygen was gently passed over. He was gripping the antidote in one hand, and the man’s hand tightly in the other. Two droplets that weren’t sea water slipped out from the corners of his eyes.

(T/N : First kiss! Alright so yeah, I am picking this up again. I have free time so hopefully chapter can be out faster, but let’s see. )
